My name is Christel Nelson I am the Director for Putnam County Head Start. I have been employed with Putnam County Head Start for over 30-years in several different positions over the years. I am from a large family of 3-brothers and 5-sisters. The love of my life is my 13-year old blessing “Wesley”. I love being a part of the Putnam County Head Start Program. The program has been successful in teaching children and empowering families for over 50-years. I hold degrees from the following institutions: an Masters of Education from Grand Canyon University, a Bachelors of Science in Family and Consumer Science /Child Development from Fort Valley State University, and a Associate’ s Degree from Central Georgia Technical College in Early Childhood Care and Education. In my spare time I enjoy family and friends, scrap-booking, decorating, taking pictures and most of all helping others.
